Excel Forms and Macros

Objectives: 

By the end of this workshop delegates will have learnt how to use a variety of tools that will enable them to create forms and automate documents without the need for using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programming

Pre-requisites: 

Delegates should have a good working knowledge of Excel and be familiar with range names and function formula including =SUM and =IF.

Simple Forms:

  • What is an electronic form?
  • Using data validation to create a drop-down list
  • Protecting cells
  • Protecting a worksheet
  • Saving a document as a template

Form Controls:

  • Displaying the Developer tab
  • Form Controls & ActiveX Controls
  • Using basic controls
  • Linking to a cell

Recorded Macros:

  • Workbook Macros
  • Global (Personal Workbook Macros)
  • Assigning a Macro to a shortcut key
  • Assigning a Macro to a button
